Privacy notice

How Bearsden Dental Care looks after your personal information.

To confirm: Draft for the practice to complete and approve: the legal entity (sole trader, partnership or company), ICO registration number, Data Protection Officer or privacy lead, and your retention periods for clinical records and enquiries. Please send your existing practice privacy notice if you have one.

Who we are

Bearsden Dental Care, 12 Ledi Drive, Bearsden, Glasgow G61 4JJ, is the controller of the personal information we hold about you. You can contact us at info@bearsdendentalcare.com or on 0141 942 8811.

What we collect through this website

  • Registration enquiries: your name, phone number, email (optional), who you'd like to register, the type of care you're interested in, and when's best to call.
  • Messages: your name, email, phone number (optional), the topic and your message.
  • Technical information: if you accept analytics cookies, anonymised information about how the site is used (see our cookie policy).

We never ask for your medical history, medicines or symptoms online. We ask you not to include health details in messages. If you choose to tell us something about your health, for example that you're anxious or need step-free access, we treat it as special category data and use it only to arrange your care.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To reply to you and arrange registration or an appointment: your consent, and steps you've asked us to take before becoming a patient.
  • Health information you choose to share: your explicit consent, and the provision of health care.
  • Patient records once you're registered: providing health care and our legal obligations as an NHS dental provider.

Who sees it

Only our practice team. Enquiries are stored securely in our website system and emailed to the practice inbox using a service that processes them on our behalf. We don't sell or share your information for marketing.

How long we keep it

Website enquiries that don't lead to registration are deleted after 12 months. Clinical records are kept for the periods required for NHS dental records.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, by contacting us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
